Frequently Asked Questions:

What trees, shrubs and flowers thrive in the Myrtle Beach area?
We are in zone 8a, and we have extremely hot and humid summers, therefore, some zone 8a plants will not tolerate this heat. Clemson Extension Services has a very good website for trees, shrubs and flowers.

Why is my centipede grass dying? I just recently fertilized it. The sod was just put in about one year ago. Last summer and fall it was growing just fine.
Centipede grass is called the lazy man's grass. It does not like a lot of special care. It tolerates very little fertilizer.
It is always best to have your soil tested before applying any chemicals to your lawn. If you use a "weed and feed" type of fertilizer, make sure the label states that it OK to use on centipede. Some of the liquid weed killers will kill centipede.
Read all labels carefully before buying the product. Make sure that you do not use more of the product than is recommended.
